 About 2.5 acres in size but with only a dozen purpose pegs, Lake 4 is the nearest water to the car park at Celtic Lakes Resort. Almost triangular in shape it has been stocked with similar fish to Churchill (Lake 5) with common carp to 15lb and mirror carp ranging from 4lb to 8lb.
Although smaller than Churchill, depths still reach as much as 16ft in the far right hand corner looking at the lake from the car park, whilst most of the rest of the lake averages 6ft. The banks have been cut straight down and lead to a bowl shaped bottom.
In addition to the common carp and mirror carp, Lake 4 was stocked in 2006 with koi carp, bream, tench and roach.
Lake 4 has been heavily planter with reeds, iris, ornamental grasses and bamboos around the banks as well as water lilies.
Lake 4 has been designed to appeal to more general anglers and is expected to become one of the most popular day ticket and longer stay pleasure fishing waters in Wales and the UK.
