The final match of this years winter league was held at Celtic Lakes Resort in Lampeter. Sixteen anglers took part and today either Nick Williams or John Charlesworth would become winter league champion and the battle for third place resolved also. Nick who was trailing John by one point at the start of the match stormed into an early lead landing carp to 10lb in the first hour on lake 4, with junior Welsh International Ryan Hughes also catching well. Meanwhile on lake 5 (Churchill), which was favourite to produce the winners today things were not going well and the favoured pegs not producing many fish at all.

Conditions:

Fish Caught: Common CarpMirrror Carp

Summary:
After hearing a few reports that lake 6 has been fishing really slow, we decided that a bit of action was required for the day. Although the majority of the fish that we caught were singles, it was still good fun catching over thirty carp between us. I think that we\'ll wait for a bit of warmer weather next time and hit lake 6 for the cats.
